Hey there, it’s Alex. You guys might know me as Switch, or the other way around.
I have been reaching out to a bunch of people recently because of a really difficult time in my life. And I’m sorry if I ever became a nuisance to you while I was constantly spamming you guys with memes, posts that don’t make sense, unsolicited rants, and messages that pretty much reflect the current state of my life.
Things have been really hard for me for the past three years. I believe I might have endured really devastating damage to my psyche the whole time I was trying to survive. I couldn’t tell everything here or say everything in just one sitting, and I definitely do not want this to be another unsolicited rant or trauma dump.
I do just want to let you guys know that this might be the last message I put out online, and I will be spending most of my time outside of the internet. How I will be spending that time, I’m not sure. But as I’m typing this, I feel a sense of relief that’s almost synonymous with the feeling I get when I’m giving up.
Maybe it’s a resolution I have arrived at over the past few months, and even years, of reaching out to people and describing my situation. But I guess describing my situation -- telling stories about the events going on in my life -- might not be the best way to deal with them. Maybe I’m not looking for a way to deal with them. Maybe I’m only looking for a way to get past them peacefully.
That was me inviting you guys over to the condo or to my place. That was me inviting you guys to hang out, hop on Discord, and just talk for a while, or maybe even play Tetris, Roblox, or other games. I would even offer to treat you guys when we went out -- for example, to a café -- because that is genuinely the only time I get to spend quality time with what I know to be love.
And I’m trying my best to cling on to whatever I think love is, whether that be friends, family, my cousins, or people around me who constantly check up on me. But I’m afraid this time my efforts at doing exactly that are failing.
People might see this again as some sort of overdramatic reaction from me, or maybe another one of my weird antics as a person. I don’t even know what labels you guys already have for me, whether those be labels I already know of or labels I would rather not know of. But all I know is that I am speaking my truth at the moment, and things are really, really hard.
Things have never been harder than they are now, even though I take home close to six digits, and sometimes even six digits, every month. I’ve never felt as empty as I do now.
And I’m genuinely sorry for the barrage of sentiments you guys receive in your inboxes. I’m sorry for the random calls at 2 a.m. And I’m sorry for joking so much about so many things that you guys couldn’t possibly keep up with them anymore. Those were my attempts at trying to be somewhat stable. And I’m afraid my attempts at being stable have not only failed but have also been to my detriment.
I know there are a bunch of things I could improve as a human being, but I only genuinely wished to be loved. And I’ve sought that since kindergarten, ever since I was a child. I have always felt like it was difficult to love me, and time and again, people have proved that to me, whether through painful words or the way they treated me.
I’ve always felt like I was an extremely different person. And maybe they’re right, because maybe this is my reality. After all, who am I without the messy emotions? Who am I without the crashouts, the begging for love, the random crying, and the occasional highs when I would go on a streak -- running, working, or loving myself -- only to eventually give up sometime in the future?
One thing for sure is that I am exhausted from reaching out to people. And I’m deliberately not putting this on my story or in a post, so you guys can discover it on your own if you’re curious about what’s going on in my life.
Maybe it’s best that I isolate. Maybe it’s best that I stay away from people because not only do I drain them, but I slowly affect them negatively as well.
So, anyway, I don’t want this to be so long anymore. This might be -- or should I say, this is actually -- my last message for now.
I hope nothing but the best for you guys and the world.
Anyway, I have a lot of work left to do. I really have a lot of work to do.
Goodbye.
